MEETING ****************************************************************The Next   meeting will be held October 31    1:30 pm-3: 00 PM , at the beautiful  Library of the RyerssMuseum , 7370 Central Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania . Although most of our members avail themselvesof vehicular access to the meetings, it is also easy to access by public Transportation (   Septa) Bus Route 24, 70,77 and R8 train at “ Ryers ” station in inclement weather. In September, Bill Congagna , assisted by new club member    Ed Weisberg (who is aprofessional printer) gave a wonderfully lecture to our club on the printing processes, as theypertain to  stamp manufacture . Bravo to these members; they did a fabulous presentation and welearn a lot about color mixings on paper . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Agenda For OCTOBER OF 2009 Meeting !!!!!!!!!!!!  Anthony Montorano ( junior club member and boy scout) will give detaillecture with slide presentation on his favorite topic: dictators on stamps. We will also haveother club members who will talk of their favorite topical collection. What topics do YOUcollect; come and tell us. At $50.00   mint hinged  , they are a bargain . At $100.00 never hinged  , they are a STEAL . This set is scarce . The editor  owns them on an even rarer First   Day Cover !!!     So come tothe Club to learn more about thisstamp!  BEGINNERSCORNER ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? This is an excellent rule of thumb for overprinted stamps : if a stamp catalogues more  money without  an overprint  , it is probably, genuine . If the overprinted stampcatalogues more , Caveat Emptor (  buyer beware  )! I would get a certificateif I were you! Say what? You’er not coming to the Club? Why not? Don’tbe afraid, come and learn about history on stamps, its fun, Free and Educationalbring the kids, bring a friend !!!!
