Do Professional Sports People Earn too much money? (A)The popularity of spectator across the world today is unprecedented. Thanks totelevision, Sports such as football, basketball and tennis are watched bymillions of people in all (1)____________of the world. One consequence of thisphenomenon is also the increase in popularity of the men and women who playthese sports. People like David Beckham, Yau Ming, Venus and Serena Williamsare instantly recognized around the world. One of the fruits of (2)________ forthese sports people, among many, is that they are paid huge amounts of money to play the sport of their choice. Nowadays to become a professionalsportsman is very attractive (3)_______option for young people. The possible(4)_________are outstanding. However there are some people who think theyoung professional sports men and women of today earn too much money. InEngland for example a good footballer who is still only 18 or 19 years of agecan earn $2000 to $5000 a week. A good tennis player can be a millionairemany times over before they are 20 years of age. However is playing suchhuge amounts of money to such young people a good thing?(B)Some people who agree with this state of play say that these outstandingyoung people are only being fairly recompensed for their abilities. Are hard-working ,disciplined young people who make many (6)__________in their lives toachieve a level of excellence in their chosen sport. In many causes they areunable to have a normal adolescence like other people their age. Instead of going out to parties and to the beach these young spors people are on thefootball pitch, the basketball court and tennis court (7)________ and improvingtheir skills.(C)Also administrative of the sport will say that these people are only being(8)__________form the demand they create .It is only fair that the more peoplewatch them they should be paid. So if millions of people are watching t=themplay then it is only they should be paid millions of dollars(D)But, still ,for some people it is obscene that a young person of 18 years of ageliving in America or England can earn $50000 in a week when there are wholefamilies and communities in Africa, China and other South East Asian.Countries who would never see that amount of money a lifetime. It is somehownot right, very (9)___________ (E)Also for these critics, to give young who are often (10)__________in formaleducation and life experiences such large amounts of money and pamperedlifestyle is irresponsible and detrimental to these young people’s (11)________ashuman beings. These critics give many examples of young male and femalesports people who find difficulty doing the most common everyday tasks suchas booking airliner tickets, going shopping in a supermarket etc. The reasonthey cannot do these tasks is because other people do them for them. Theynever get the opportunity to learn these simple, but (12)____________,skills.(F)Because they do have people ding most things for them, these critics say theseyoung sports people often get inflated opinions of themselves and an unrealunderstandi9ng of the world. They think the world is there  to(13)___________only their need stand they do not get what they can act invery in arrogant and unpleasant ways .These well- paid and 14)sports peoplebehave like spoilt children. In many ways they are not allowedto(15)____________.(G)People who (16)_______ professional sports people getting paid these hugesums of money acknowledge some of these sports people do act in these ways. However they are only a few and that most young professional sports.(H)So you can see it is a difficult question. How much should a youngprofessional sports person be paid? And how much is too much?
