I have managed an increase in the number of vehicles managed from just over 1000, to inexcess of 2500 along with my team of administrators and warehouse operatives. Although I have not been educated to degree level, I feel my experience and strong work ethics more than make up for any qualification.EmploymentDates of employment - Feb 2001 to dateCompany - Exclusive Vehicle Contracts (EVC)Position Held – Manager of Fleet Management departmentSalary - £36,000Commision – Varied, but minimum of £3000 per monthBenefits – Laptop, Company Car In my role as Manager of the Fleet Management department (EFM) that I started up in 2001, I liaisewith our Sales Director and Managing Director on a daily basis, as well as meeting with Main BoardDirector's for clients of EVC.In 2001 I was approached to develop a Fleet Management department within an established ContractHire company. This involved putting the entire required infrastructure in place, such as hardware, bespoke software and personnel. Full details of our client’s fleet were then collated and added to thesoftware package enabling us to start the process of managing their fleet efficiently.As Manager of EFM, I am responsible for constantly reviewing my client’s fleet policies to ensurethat they remain compliant with all areas of legal and duty of care requirements. I am also involvedin negotiations and with manufacturers, daily rental providers, accident management providers aswell as fuel card providers, my main role to ensure that my client’s are receiving the best possibleOwnership of the delivery of a comprehensive fleet management service, including the provision of new, spare and daily rental vehicles, and fuel cards.Responsible for the enforcement and communication of Company Fleet PolicyPreparation of materials to facilitate effective communication of the fleet policy, including regular reviews and updates of the Company Driver Handbook.Responsible for setting, gaining approval for, and controlling the annual fleet expense budget of approximately £4.3m.  Research, interpret and review information, including financial and statistical data, to formulate and present recommendations that reduce costs and achieve best practice. To champion and drive suchrecommendations with key stakeholders.Produce appropriate reporting and use quantitative analysis to make improvement recommendations,driving changes through to completionResponsible for achieving and maintaining compliance with legislation under the EU 4th Directiveon Motor Insurance.Perform Mileage Reconciliations of the Employee Car Ownership Scheme and communicate resultsto key stakeholders and scheme participants (In compliance with HM Revenue and Customs)Calculate submissions for Inland Revenue purposesManage accounts with external vendors of products and services, to ensure compliance with SLAsLead the outsourcing of transactional activities as appropriate, and ensure that suitable metrics are produced and monitored to check performance.Investigate escalated issues to provide decisions on policy disputes to achieve prompt resolution tominimise operational disruption. Negotiate discounts with vehicle manufacturers in conjunction with the Procurement function, andmanage relationships, to achieve continued cost effective vehicle acquisition.Monitor and ensure vehicle discount is accurately reflected in leasing rates.Review the available vehicles within Grade Allowances to ensure the Company’s minimum vehiclerequirements within each grade are achievable.Manage Driving Licence Audits for all Company Vehicle Users, Car Allowance Recipients and Nominated Drivers to ensure compliance with legal, insurance and duty of care requirements.Evaluate the requirement for contract reschedules where vehicles are covering excess mileage,analysing and selecting the appropriate fleet management option to minimise penalties.Scrutinise and approve new vehicle orders for policy compliance.Monitor the Accident Management processOperate as Recovery Team Leader, create and maintain Business Continuity documents to ensureadequate plans exist that can be executed in the case of emergency to guarantee continuation of afleet management service.Liaise with the Company’s Insurance Broker and provide vehicle and claims history data on anannual basis, to enable the renewal of insurance cover at the most cost effective rate.My duties include managing 2 administrators and a warehouse operative, as well as liaising with our Sales Director and Managing Director on a daily basis, as well as liaising with Main BoardDirector's for clients of EVC. In 2001, EVC did not have a Fleet Management department. In 1995 I had moved into theoffice environment as a Maintenance Controller. Between 1995 and 2000 I held various positions,mainly customer focused, but also looking after the main Database and controlling the logistics of delivering and collecting in excess of 1000 vehicles annually. In 2000 BMG was acquired by alarger Motor Company, and the Contract Hire operation was moved to Harrogate.
